Philco for 1948 (introduced June 1947)
The following models continued in the Philco lineup: 48-141, 48-150, 48-200, 48-200-I, 48-225, 48-230, 48-250, 48-250-I, 48-360, 48-460, 48-460-I, 48-461, 48-464, 48-472, 48-472-I, 48-482, 48-1200, 48-1201, 48-1253, 48-1256, 48-1260, 48-1262, 48-1263, 48-1264, 48-1266, 48-1270, 48-1274, 48-1276.
The following models were discontinued: 48-145, 48-206, 48-214, 48-300, 48-475.

At mid-season, Philco discontinued a farm set, a few Philco Transitone models, one portable and the big AM/FM Model 48-475. They also expanded their console radio-phonograph line while adding one console model and two new portable sets.

Models 48-601 & 48-602 Models 48-601 & 48-602 were identical in appearance. The new 48-601 and 48-602 were available in four colors (ivory, tan, green and maroon). While both models look alike, the 601 operated on batteries only while the 602 could operate on 115 volts AC or DC current, or on batteries. Model 48-1401 This cabinet, designed by R.J. Whipple, represented a major change in Philco styling. The design would influence a new table model Philco radio which would become available six months later for the 1949 season.
