zenith 7s330 alignment - fields 100 - 12-02-2014

Alignment instructions for the set are laconic to say the least. For the IF -connect osc. to converter grid, 455K.C.,
dummy ant. .5 uF. What does it mean? Do I just inject 455 K.C. from my sig. generator to the converter grid via
.5 uF cap? Same with a "set to scale" procedure - 18 M.C., dummy ant. 400 ohms. Is it their terminology or I just got spoiled by the nice Philco detailed instructions i.e. "connect signal generator to the grid of tube such and such via 200pf capacitor etc, etc... Thanks.
P.S. It is 7S530.

Well, .5 is a little large for a coupling capacitor, sure you don't mean .05 mfd? Should work anyway. Since this is a transformer set, you don't have to sweat the ground connection. Dummy antennas? Well for regular AM sets with their own loops, about 30 turns of whatever on an empty TP cardboard works to couple generator to radio without direct connection works for me, but for 18 MC, dunno.
