Crosley 66TA loop antenna manufacture - ccomer1955 - 07-20-2015

My Crosley 66TA has no back panel of course, but I thought I might try to make one including a loop antenna. I've attached the only picture I can find on the net of the Crosley 66TA loop antenna. It seems to be a simple flat loop of about three turns with a lead at each end of the loop running around the edge of the fiberboard back. Does anyone have a live version of one of these to confirm? Can it be that simple? I'm a bit surprised by this since the sets are supposed to be great at pulling in signals.

Looks like a simple but effective antenna.

I would suspect that you could use a loop from another set. Most AMBC sets use a 365mmfd tuning cap and the ant section. So the capacitance is all about the same. The other critical part is the inductance since most loop are used with a 365mmfd cap you should be in business. You will need to repeak the ant trimmer for best sensitivity at the high end of the band.
