How thick? Well, that will vary a little and trimming of the flashing will cause a bit of variation at the base. I was aiming for a match to the original and without a micrometer measurement, they appear to be similar in thickness and strength ( I just inserted them into the radio and one was tight). The nickel could make them thicker (and of course does) but there is no reason to plate on so much nickel that fit is a problem.

The copper solution is acid-copper (basically a PH negative solution of copper sulfate).
