Philco pn 3584-B - Stan the Man - 09-05-2019

Hey folks,.. I am looking for conformation on the internal wiring of this cap (3584B).. I know the value is .05, but I am suspecting that one end of said cap goes to the mounting lug, and one goes to a solder tab on top, and,.. that the second tab on the top is dead..

What chassis is it use in and what is it number on the schematic?

Model 76,.. item 13 on the schematic.. but unless you have first hand knowledge of this particular cap, it is impossible to answer the question.. I am needing to know the internal wiring of the cap.. kind of like a bakelite block..

What I would do is measure the resistance across the two terminal on the cardboard tube..  If I'm correct you'll see a low value resistance there ( a few hundred to a thousand).  So what you want to do is cut the wire that is soldered to the bracket and solder the new cap from the bracket and the other end of the cap to the terminal  that is at the far end of the cardboard tube.

I should have mentioned, I already gutted the cap.. I did the first one no problem.. I gutted the second one and then noticed a tiny wire soldered to the mounting lug.. This leads me to believe the actual cap leads go to one tab and the mounting lug.. leaving the second tab as a tie point..

No resistance wire on part (13), it is merely a capacitor. One end is connected to the grounding lug, the other to one of the tabs. The tab with no internal connection is a tie point.
