Stewart Warner model 1845 tuner operation - murf - 12-21-2019

Hello fella's,
Wondering if anyone can tell me how the manual/electric tuning control is supposed to work on this radio?
It is the R184 chassis, and it has a large brass outer portion which is pushed in for electric and pulled out for manual tuning.
But when you pull it out it ends up completely covering the inner 1/4 inch shaft that has the flat on it.
Hoping someone here has one and can fill me in on the operation of this control.
Looks like quite an elaborate mechanism.

I have a Stewart Warner console  model  409 with 15 preset push buttons.
If your chassis is similar, the instructions for setting up the preset might be the same.
I think that the presets might be very close in operation.
It took me a couple of years to get this information, but I could sent it to you if you like.
It covers all the small adjustments, like how far apart certain contacts should be  ,etc, etc.
    Here is some information.
