Looks more like an industrial appliance now

Somehow I am sure it is restorable.

Better yet, if you succeed to remove the paint without removing what's under it, the finish may still be good, as the paint was often put right on the lacquer, as it was not a bad finish remedy but purely "new trend" in design.

oh gosh, I just had a palpitation. I'd say not worth it for me. No front grill anymore and he cut the sides for speakers. sad sad sad. If you want a big project anything can be restored.

MY OPINION: not worth the headaches finding the proper chassis/speaker, having replacement grillework made, repairing the holes made in the sides, and stripping all that white _________(word for poop) stripped off the cabinet.

The 9Ks are not a rare set, you can do much better.....

My post was 90% tongue and cheek.

I am not planning on purchasing this radio.

I just came across the horrid pictures and thought it might be good for a laugh on the Phorum.
