Philco 42-355 dial restringing help, please. - don'tdomelikethat - 06-16-2014

Per my earlier post of a few days ago about a dial cord string diagram for the 42-355, I found this (a diagram for a 42-395, 42-380 also apparently):[Image: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c344/philzen/dialcorddiagram.png] . I've lettered the pulleys in the pic. The diagram matches my 355 well:[Image: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c344/philzen/100_0063.jpg] . I'm not concerned with the dial pointer string (pulleys A,B in the diagram). It's fine. My concern is with the 2nd string at pulleys C,D,E. At pulley E, it says 2 turns of cord around that. How do I do that? [Image: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c344/philzen/100_0064.jpg]

It just means you wrap the cord around the shaft twice before going to the next pulley or spring (unless I'm misunderstanding your question?)

I figured it out. I was trying to reinstall the existing cord that came off of the shaft. Apparently you can't do it that way, so I just installed new string and routed it per the diagram.
