46-1209 tone issues - philco4me - 06-18-2014

I have done a re-cap on my 46-1209. It was playing fine for a while now the tone seems to change on its own. Even if I turn the tone knob some times it don't Chang the sound. Any suggestions ?

Thank you

How do I check if the solider is bad ?

You could take an insulating stick and poke at the wires around the tone control and see if you see any changes.

I would start from checking the pot itself first.

A dirty or worn tone pot will cause this.
