Philco 70 Cabinet
#1

Ok,, This has probably been asked a lot of times before.. But here goes.. What does the Cabinet look like for a model 70 Early version NO AVC.. Reason asking is every picture I see is different..

Can someone point out a picture that is original.. Or does the model 70 use many different type of cabinets and finishes..

Thanks

is the popular one but there are a number different cabinets , consoles, clock/radio and a chairside.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.

Now I think I've got!

And there are slight differences in cabinet built and finish in Canada, as compared to the U.S.

Only speaking of the cathedral style 70. The cabinets were the same for the early (non AVC) and late (AVC) chassis. There were two styles of base moulding used. I have seen early chassis in cabinets with either style base. The craftsmen did take some liberty on the finish.
