This Bendix sold very quickly, I had never heard of such a thing. When someting sells here the description vanishes, apparently this would be taken to homes and used to demo radio signal strengh entering your home. Anybody of heard of these things? Did other compnies have them?

Yup..I see them maybe once a year on Ebay..one sold not too long ago for about 100 I think
