Philco 66 Lowboy

Just got this radio and was wondering what ya think? I paid $25 for it. Any comments? How do they perform?

It is a decent radio. Nothing really stellar but decent. For 25 bucks - good buy.

At least it has a real SW band (4.2 to 12 mc), unlike the model 60 which has a mostly useless 1.5 to 4 mc SW band.

I love the style of this console. Well done at 4x the price in my opinion.

Like Ron said it's a 60 w/much better SW  coverage. The chassis is layed out a little different than the 60 underneath and it's a little more critical to work on. I've got a 66MB that on the long waiting list. Mike fixed up one a while back. I too like that design of the cabinet.

Yeah I have a 66 tombstone with lyre grill pattern. Love the design.
the band switch is weird but unless stuck is easy to disassemble.

Thanks guys for the comments. I like the cabinet too! Also the expanded SW band. My 60B is only to 4mc!
