Picture of AK 944 Chassis Underside

I need a picture of an original AK 944 chassis underside so that I can undo some previous attempts at restoration. I need to see wire colors/routing and placement/colors of the original caps.

Help save this cathedral radio.

Thanks

Russ

P.S. The cabinet had been "finished" with thick antiquing glaze, just wonderful. Icon_rolleyes

Starting 35:04, that's something.

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

That one has the same problem, but thanks.

Is that one of A.K's last gasp, or nearly last gasp sets? The front panel looks like a more ornate version of a Philco model 80, plain maple or birch veneer with shaded lacquer to mimic the fancier models?

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, but more along the lines of a Airline or Silvertone since the cabinet, in particular, and the chassis components are slightly above the inexpensive Philco. But yes, it is a 4 tube set - still a supper and I would say it is easier to tune than the 84 and the volume control is a lot less touchy.

It was an entry level model (the least expensive) for 1934:

Russ, I think I have an unmolested original.  When I get a chance I'll check and take photos if it hasn't been messed with.

It also has a surprising large speaker, about 8". However this speaker has the front-mounted spider (metal lattice with a screw in the middle in front of the pole piece. This probably reduces the effective range in both vol and frequency possibly making the smaller Philco speaker sound better.
