help philco 41-605

Hey anyone out there have a philco 41-605? the radio plays fine but the record player doesen't any help? swich maybe?

Probably a bad phono cartridge.

My friend Syl posted a comprehensive how-to on rebuilding these; details may be found here.

If you do not feel comfortable with doing this, there are people who will rebuild it for you.

ohhh sorry i ment the record player doesen't even turn. Icon_confused is it a bad coil on the motor or worn out brushes on the motor.

Most phonographs have a brushless AC motor of some sort, usually a bipole motor, more then likely the grease or oil on the motor bearings, the idler wheel, and the platter have dried up and they need to be taken apart, cleaned with varsol, and relubricated, but the power switch can be a problem as well.
