The photo is of the bulb which came with my radio (spherical) and the replacement tubular bulb (which is somewhat consistent with Ron’s and Bob’s suggested bulb).  The replacement tubular bulb proved to be a better shape as it uniformly lit the cavity. The spherical bulb cast a shadow covering about 1/3 of the cavity.
