PT-43 reception question
#1

Hello Folks,
Well, I just recapped this little one and it plays very well with outstanding AM reception! So here's the question - I know that this SW section (1.5>2.5) is pretty much history, but when you throw the switch on the back to the police section it sounds like a switch was made but it continues to recieve AM. Any idea why? The switch appears to be wired correctly, unless I'm missing something.

Well, from 1500 KHZ to 1710 is part of today's broadcast band. There will be lots of AM stations in this part of your "police" band. The rest should be pretty quiet. Or do you mean that there is no change at all when the switch is thrown and the stations come in just as they did before?

Hi Steve,
Well, after I read your reply I had to go check again. Most all the reception is in the 1450 up area, but very, very faintly you can hear the local Hispanic station which broadcasts @ 960 AM. Not really a crisis, but made me curious.
Jim
