philco consoles with back covers
#1

Hey guy's,
I picked up a 38-3xx console the other day and the thing had a full back cover. Original with all the Philco garb on it.
I have never seen a back cover(full) on a late 30's philco console.
Anyone else seen one of these?
I have a 35 philco model 16x with a back cover on the speaker portion.
I thought it was interesting that this 38-3xx also had the original price tag of $129.50 hanging inside.
SOmeone called me up today and offered me a 37-650 in mint condition other than it has not been plugged in for years.
I saw pics of this one and it is mint original finish.
Picked up a really nice 37-675 last week, so I guess I will be working on Philco's for a while.

Congrats. I wish my 38-1 had its back. The swivel clips are about half there.

As far as I am aware, all 1938 Philco "XX" consoles had backs originally.
