Looking for correct grommets 40-201
#1

I am trying to determine what rubber grommets are the correct ones for the tuning capacitor mounting on the 40-195/200/201. I see a couple of them on http://www.renovatedradios.com/parts.html that look right but there are two different ones listed: GPH-RFTR and GPH-49-900. Unfortunately there is not enough information on all the dimensions of both of these to determine if they will work with the 1940 models.

Also for the push-button bracket there are two rubber grommets that could be correct: GPH-46-480 and GLg-Tuner. Can anyone help me nail down which ones to order?

I sent a query to Renovated Radios, but it has been days ago and I have not received a response from them. Perhaps they cannot determine and/or do not have enough data on their grommets to determine which ones would work.

Thanks in advance.

Dunno if still sold, but I bought several llittle sets of assorted washers and grommets quite some time ago, and have managed pretty well to either gang them up or shave them down to make replacements for dried out stuff on old radios. Anyway, if they are too big, you can make them smaller and if too thin you can mate up a pair with a drop of (of all things) rubber cement. But, I am a scrounge, not an expert. Many of us snowed in, so you will probably get better advice soon.

I am in touch with http://www.renovatedradios.com/parts.html and have sent them detailed measurements and a drawing of the tuning capacitor mounting grommet to aid in identifying the correct one. They indicated that the GPH-46-48 grommet is intended for the push-button support bracket and matches what is on the 40-195/200/201 and probably some other 1940 models.

As soon as I hear back from them I will post the information here.

I heard from Ed Schultz with Renovatedradios.com today and here are his comments about the grommets for mounting the tuning capacitor in my 40-201:
Just now measured my GPH-RFTR part and it looks like it would not be a replacement for what you need. Do you have an original that you are taking measurements from?

I replied to him saying that yes, that was how I determined the dimensions of the original grommets +/- some allowance for measurement errors. I will have to wait to see if he may have any plans to make any.

Here were the measurements I took:

See if grommets on any of your radios match what I show here
