filament transformer
#1

When restoring another brand radio, i found a Philco branded filament transformer used to step up 2.5 volt to 6.3 volt.
This radio was originally all 2.5v tubes, but someone had replaced  some with 6.3v types, hence the trannie.
Unfortunately, when i restored all tiubes to 2.v i didn't note how the trannie was connected.
So, can anyone tell me if this was an auto trans or?
It has 3 leads, is wound with heavy wire, laminations 5 cm  x 4 cm x 1.5 cm.

If you restored it back to 2.5V why do you need the transformer anymore?

People who do not drink, do not smoke, do not eat red meat will one day feel really stupid lying there and dying from nothing.

Good question, i want to use it to power a 1.5 v iJ5 tube which is the opt tube in a Zenith 6 J 230, a 6volt or 115 v ac set. all other tubes are 6 volt but the 1J5 has it's filament supplied via two special dial lights (blown) and resistors.
To avoid this i want to use the trans with a rewind and tappings to get 1.5 v.
