Model E-53 General Electric
#1

Hello
I could use some help here please ,I am working on a Canadian General Electric model E-53,
it has two tubes with no ID on them, rubbed off? ,and the cabinet has no reference chart for
tube location,I have a schematic but just can,t seem to read it is blurred and very small. There are
two can caps ,one has been replaced a long time ago with a yellow rectangular cardboard
box type at 8 MFD & 350 volts,on the box it has positive terminal marked with red or +,
on the boxed cap there are two wires one blue and the other it is hard to tell if it is faded
red and is now orange ,but on the blue wire side in small ink is marked PS ,could the side
marked PS with the blue wire be the positive side wich is now attached to the 80 tube and
the orange or faded red wire is going to chassis be neg.,I have heard that some of these sets
have neg. going to chassis and I don,t want to mix it up,would be thankful for any input and
if anyone has a clear schematic they could share I would be very thankful ,I thank you for
time all the very best Rick
