49-506 (49-500) Loop Antenna
#1

Hi all,
Has anyone wound a new loop antenna for this model, or does anyone know a source where a loop antenna can be purchased?  I am working on a 49-506 that is missing the original loop antenna.  I have a 49-500 (same chassis) that has the loop antenna, so I could try to figure out the number of winds, wire size, etc.
To be honest, I have never wound a loop antenna, but heck there are so many things I haven't done in life, and so many things I have done that I long ago forgot that I did - so I figured why not!
Any tips from my phorum-phriends?  Do's, don'ts, wire type, etc?
The 49-506 is going to my daughter for her birthday, she loves the wedge design.  I'll probably work on the 49-500 in parallel and do a 2-for-1 special while my head is into it.
Thanks,
George
