36-1514-4, 36-1611-3 questions

Hello:

I decided I would educate myself about field coil speakers and have been scouring the internet for data. I have been buying refurb candidates and also found some non-Philco universal field coil replacements. Philco made some too, for other brands. As I understood it, they were not intended for Philco speaker repairs...like they weren't intended to be disassembled.

Anyway, I have three 12" f.c. speakers so far, and think I have found from the Philco Library Parts spreadsheet & markings.

36-1514-4 FC R=1100 ohm VC R=3.2 ohm (measured DCR)
36-1611-3 FC R= 650  ohm VC R= 5.1 ohm  maybe model number 2963?


Do the -4 and -3 suffixes above mean anything?

The two field coils and pole assemblies are different sizes, but more resistance might necessitate a bigger coil. Not the same significance as larger vs. smaller permanent magnet. Is it even possible to guess how similar or different two Philco 12" speakers might sound?     

The 3rd is not a Philco.
A 4th is also not a Philco.

I'm thinking about having one reconed, once I form an opinion which is the best candidate to restore an amplifier someone 'modernized' with a PM speaker.
