Emerson DB-296 Kicking My Rear End Hard!
#1

For the last two days I've been trying to get an Emerson DB-296 that I bought last weekend at a swap meet. It didn't play when I purchased it. I've re-capped it, checked the resistors, checked the tubes, etc. etc. etc. I have audio, but little if any signal. I've aligned the IF cans, checked continuity on all coils.

I checked tube voltages and here's what I have:

TUBE = 12SA7
PLATE ACTUAL 95 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 88
SCREEN ACTUAL 106 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 88
CATHODE ACTUAL 0 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 0

TUBE = 12K7 (NO PLATE OR SCREEN VOLTAGE)
PLATE ACTUAL 0 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 88
SCREEN ACTUAL 0 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 88
CATHODE ACTUAL 0 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 0

TUBE = 12SQ7 (REALLY HIGH ON THE CATHODE VOLTAGE)
PLATE ACTUAL 55 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 30
SCREEN ACTUAL 1.5 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 0
CATHODE ACTUAL 103 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 0

TUBE = 50L6
PLATE ACTUAL 86 = RIDERS SHOULD BE = 82
SCREEN ACTUAL 5.4 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 88
CATHODE ACTUAL 6.0 = RIDERS SAYS IT SHOULD BE = 5.6

Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed!

I always considered it a good and consderate thing when the asking party psts a link to the sch in question intead of sending those trying to help to search for it.

We are willing to help but why make us do the legwork?
