How do I get a clear sounding reception with less static. It sounds like alot of treble and no bass when on talk radio or music. I have a model 47-1230.

Hi and Welcome to the Phourm!
We can start with what has been done to the set in regards to service work in the last ten years? If the set hasn't been checked over by a good tech with tube type background then there is a lot to be done. Lots of capacitors and resistors to check and replace. Have the tubes been tested for emission? A weak tube can cause poor sounding audio but is not the first thing I would go to for replacement.
