Looking for a supplier
#1

Does anyone know of a cartridge and stylus supplier for vintage Philco 48-1201 record changer?

Thanks,

Mike

You might give these folks a try, they have parts for most phonos.

Good call, Brenda. I can highly recommend them too. Gary has a wide selection of cartridges, and, while they may not have the exact same one as your original, will most certainly have something that will work. They DO have new exact replacement idler wheels for the 1201's. You might want to check yours, as 9 times out of 10, the rubber is cracked or warped (or both) which will adversely affect the speed of your turntable and sound quality of your records. Be careful with the little "jesus" clip that holds the idler on, though. VERY easy to lose.

I don't believe West-Tech rebuilds these type of cartridges, so you will probably have to go with a replacement. At least they told me they no longer rebult the type used on my 1948 Philco M-15 album length record player.

Here's another spot that offers cartridges I just happened across. Have no experience with them though. http://www.grandcanyontuberadio.com/index%202.htm
