CL-90 Question
#1

Browsing through some collector's sites I came across a person who says every one of his radios gets a CL-90 thermistor installed for softer turn on and slight decrease in line voltage while running. Do any of you in the forum use them and if so, what is your preferred installation (due to the heat of the unit while running - soldered, terminal strip, etc)? TIA Icon_smile
#2

I don't use them in my own sets, but I have one client who wants one in every one of his radios. And he gets them (and a fuse or breaker, also). Icon_smile

I try to solder direct when possible, use terminal strips when it is not. And while they get put under the chassis, I try to position them so that they are away from any heat-sensitive components. As you pointed out, they run hot!
