band switch

Philco model 111 . Band switch what kind would i get to replace it? It is just like a toggle switch has like small stacked card board on bottom.
Three prong connection . Checked everything all checks good . have intermitent reception . Has to be problem .

Model 111 does not have a band switch - it receives AM only.

It sounds like you are describing the normal-maximum switch, since you say it has three connections.

These switches do get dirty and intermittent. Try cleaning it first with a good contact cleaner.

If that does not work, try WD-40.

If that does not work...it may require replacement. You will need an SPDT toggle switch. The only problem with replacements is that it is very difficult, if not impossible, to find an old-looking (it is commonly called "ball-bat") SPDT switch, and the new one will be obvious. Fortunately, since it mounts on top of the chassis, not easily seen, replacement will be better than a nonfunctional radio...
