Stromberg-Carlson model 130R
#1

I just finished up the chassis on this set and did an alignment as shown in the service information below:

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/pagesbymodel...021331.pdf

The radio plays great and the dial is right where it should be on the A band or broadcast....except I cannot get the local station which is at 1470 kc to come in! Everything else is where it should be. I did the alignment procedure several times just to be sure and each time had the same results.

BUT....

1470 comes in loud and clear at the beginning of the B band!

I think because the two bands overlap (A covers 540 to 1500 kc, and B or the police band covers 1450 to 3500 kc), the very high end of the broadcast band comes through on the police band!

This is the only radio I have with that phenomenon.

Set your band switch to a A dial to 1470kc and find where your local osc is. Should be at 1935kc. If not align osc trimmer to put it there.

When my pals were reading comic books
I was down in the basement in my dad's
workshop. Perusing his Sam's Photofoacts
Vol 1-50 admiring the old set and trying to
figure out what all those squiggly meant.
Circa 1966
Now I think I've got!
