Stromberg
#1

Whie I had the camera about and it was a cold day I took some shots of sets for my archives.....

These are a couple of the more visually appealing....Stromberg Carlson 430M and a Stewart Warner 62T16...The SW has pemiability tuning and is a sensitive and great sounding set, has a 6" Quam Nichols speaker. The Stromberg is built like a rock.

The Stromerg is my only true console, I have a 440M torn down at present, it plays very nicely, is hot on shortwave.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Wow, really like that Stromberg, it's got a dignified, stately appearance and I bet it really is hot on short wave.

That Stewart Warner dial and pushbuttons look a lot like a Firestone I used to have.

You got two great radios pictured here! Icon_smile

The Stromberg needed a lot of glue and needed to be refinished, my sister found it at the end of a Driveway with a 'free" sign attached. The S//W I bot from an elderly gentleman in Alabama. He was a "true gent" very old school. He was nearing the end of his years and was selling his stuff. He had done the cabinet work, he had worked on the chassis but it needed a little help. He was looking for a good home for his radios, I am trying to do him right.

These types of folks can be great resources for the collector as they have a lot of knowledge and if their kids do not want their radios frequently they will sell them to a good steward for very short money.

Paul
