Phonograph Troubles
#1

I've recently retrieved a Philco model 48-1256 radio/phonograph from my attic. I hooked it up, turned on the radio and promptly fell in love with the thing.
The radio works just fine, the problem is that the phonograph volume is broken and when I turn it on it just buzzes. I can control the volume of the buzzing but not the record.
Any tips?

sounds like a bad ground on the wireing going to turn table or on the turn table.

It should have all paper and Electrolytic Capacitor replaced and resistor's checked so it will work reliably these are very cheap.

If your set uses a crystal cartridge plan on replacing it too.
Terry
