Philco 41-608. Correct wiring of bass control
#1

Hi,
I am replacing the bass control (6.0Meg) on this chassis and I'm not sure which components were connected to which ends. The wiper of the pot is at ground. I want to make sure my bass is increasing as the pot is rotated clockwise. So should the wiper end then be going to the upper or lower end (looking at the schematic) as you increase the bass tone? Another way of putting it is should the .004 cap from the plate of the 7C6 become grounded (via the wiper) when bass is maximum or minimum?
Hope this isn't too confusing.. just want to get it right... lost track of which leads were on which end.
Thanks very muich!

OK, assuming you are looking at the back side of the pot...

Connect capacitor (65), .004 uF, to the left terminal.
Ground to the center terminal.
The right terminal to the junction of capacitor (56) and resistor (57).

When the control is at full clockwise (CW), the wiper will be at the end connected to capacitor (65), .004 uF and you will have full bass (minimum treble). This is how you want to wire the control.
