capacitor question
#1

I got a gloritone 26 receiver i am about to work on and my general question is the audio bypass plate capacitor lists being a 0.0006 capacitor. Can i use a 500 pf silver mica in place because i don't have any 0.0006 capacitors on hand and i am not sure that value exists anymore.
Any help would be appreciated.

two..
.001uf caps wired in series will give you a .0005 which is goodnuf ' for your need.

using your option of a 500pf results in the same value...............,,,

your .0006uf call out is exactly the same as a 600pf.
move your decimal to the right six more places to reach -12 or picoferads.

to answer your question............ i would but im not an expert.

The schematic calls for a 0.006, not a .0006. Anything between .006 & .01 is fine

The model 26H calls for a .01, in the real world you'd never know the difference.

I always use that capacitor to give a little boost in the base tone to the speaker. Going from .006 mfd to .01 mfd will bypass some highs to give a more bass-y sound. Generally, it should be 630 volts or higher. I use a 1000 volt cap.
