Chassis parts do not seem to follow schematic..

More to follow.. Have to copy schematic to download..

Ok, Here is what I have.. seems power supply section has 2 additional resistors added..

1st picture is schematic I have..

Next picture is what is really there..

These look like factory installed.. But cannot be sure

Other problem is F/C I think speaker and F/C were changed..

Thoughts??

The first resistor is a surge resistor, some sets have them in series with the rectifier plate, and some do not, but most likely it is original. The 200 K resistor should be paralleled with a .2 uf cap, it's there to couple the B- to the chassis for shielding purposes, I don't know how critical it is as, again, some sets have them, others do not, either way the big paper cap is needed or the set will motorboat like crazy.

Seems the more I look into this .. They or who ever Replaced most of the caps with different values.. Found some .05 replaced with .10 found 2 .0002 replaced with .0005 It keeps getting better and better..

OK Ps the filter caps were 70UF and 20UF..

Maybe due to the F/C being 1092 Ohms..

Who Knows..

Ok I replaced the Electrolytic with the same value as was in it.

Then I powered it up.. I do not normally do power up until I replace all caps and out of tolerance resistors But since this seems to have so many different values in it that's not on schematic.. I figured why NOT..

It lives!! Surprisingly it works pretty good.. But now I an replace with the values that are in it or as close as I can get.

Some of those little Emersons play pretty well, some not so much. They may have had the small but "pretty good" thing sown pat.

Well, I found a wire not connected from the loop antenna it was supposed to go to ground. When connected it played much better.. But now on to the Recap..
