I feel your pain regarding the rubber insulated wire. I'm working on a 6-tube Zenith 6D539 with almost all rubber insulated wire and it's all disintegrating.

You're right, you can't just fix them one at a time. You end up disconnecting several more wires before you replace the one you started out to replace.
