3D Print Transitone Flying Dart Face
#16

That's not bad idea, I have given it some consideration. I still need some dimensional reference, maybe I use the center of the speaker to the center of the dial.

Hello Daniel ,
thanks and I will try printing that this week .
Hello Arran ,
that would be a great idea !
So Daniel there you go another project .

For the 49-506, here is a slightly different grille.

Be sure to size the .STL be before you print it.

Dan;
I wish I had a 49-506 for reference, I just suggested it since you have a chassis for the 48-230, but no cabinet.

Hello Daniel,
I used open scad to convert the 48-230 and i could not get to work right because part of the code is missing not all the bezel was created .

I'll check it out.

It's been updated. I also tried to load it into Slic3r and it shows correctly. Also, it has been scaled so that the width is ever so slightly larger that the chassis width. You should be able to scale it as you like from there.

Hello Daniel,
Thank you I will try printing it today .

I didn't have the measurements to the 49-506 box but I made my box like it and fitted the grill to it.  It fits like a glove.
More work to do:
1. Reproduction knobs on order.   Also need to enlarge the volume and tuning knob holes -- that's waiting for the knobs.
2. Homemade dial pointer (not yet installed)
3. Need to make a lens for the dial.
4. Clean up the trim work and put finish on it.
5. Very minor sanding on the 3D printed grill.  It turned out really well.
6. Put mounting holes at the bottom and make a 49-506 style base.

A little more cleanup and knobs installed:

The pointer was made from a piece of insulated red wire with one end coiled around he axle of the tuner. I then coated the coil with "liquid nails" a few times and then painted that part of it red to match the wire.
