Philco Model 80 Transformer resistance
#1

I have a feeling the primary winding on the power transformer is bad. My resistance reading on the primary side is 9 ohms at points 1 and 2 on the schematic. The schematic shows a value of 1042 ohms. I found an old thread where the OP had roughly the same reading but the thread ended without any further information on the transformer findings so now I'm questioning my findings. All other windings read good. Can any one confirm my suspicions? Thanks!

The DC resistance of the primary is 8 to 9 Ohm.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Hmm...well that's good, so what am I seeing that's 1042 ohms on the schematic for the power transformer across points 1 and 2? All other points measured read roughly what is shown.

My $0.02 is that it is a misprint. I tried to look up the value for the similar 84 and 37-84, and ther is no resistance reading for any of the power transformer windings.

Just forget this number, it is useless anyway.
Simply proceed with your project.
