Can you help identify this radio?
#1

Hello – I am trying to find some information out about a Zenith.  Here is what I know.

My school’s 1943-44 catalog says “Ranger Junior College has just purchased a Zenith Recording Machine, which records from the microphone, the voice, instruments, or radio reception and is a public address system.  The machine is an invaluable aid in all kinds of speech activities.  Each student in the speech department will be required to make a recording of his voice and speech at the beginning of the semester and one at the end of the semester to determine how much he has improved.”

Later on the same page, I see this:  “Combination Recording and Receiving Radio Machine – This is one of the highest priced and best machines in the southwest.  This machine is designed to produce phonograph recordings and reproduce radio programs.  The machine is a 14-tube, 3 gain superheterodyne and has a 14 inch electrodynamic speaker with a specially developed high frequency sound diffuser.  Also there is an automatic record changer and a storage space for all records produced.  The tone is controlled by a 6-button radiogram allowing 64 different tonal variations.  The "split-second" scale and a tuning meter is provided to give precision tuning which is so important for proper tonal”
reproduction.

Here is what I want to know.  Are these the same machine?  Also, does anyone know anything more specific about what the make/model might be or where I could find a picture?

Thank you, H
