Installing Philco 90 dial scale
#1

I cant believe the trouble I am having getting the dial scale on this radio. Ive tried installling the drive mechanism bracket first, then trying to install the dial scale. Even with the bracket slightly loose, I cannot get the metal lip of the scale into the slot in the drive wheel and on the tuner shaft at the same time.
Also tried putting the dial and the drive bracket together first then installing as a unit. Still no dice. With both parts together, I cant get he bushing in the back of the drive bracket into the hole in the plate of the front of the tuning cap.
Same as a 70.
Is there a trick to this???

I figured it out. The two pieces go on as a unit. It takes a bit of pressure to get the metal lip of the scale to separate the two halves of the drive wheel. Loosening up the tuning cap from the chassis helps too.
Now I know!
