I am getting the speaker in my Philco 91 reconed. I would like the replace the speaker wires going to the chassis when I get it back. What gauge cloth covered wire should I get? 18 or 20 gauge?

In this application it won't matter much, but given the minuscule price difference I would go with 18 gauge.

Whatever looks good and fits in the plug. Any ow these gauges exceed what's required by about an order of magnitude.
