42-350 brass escutcheon-FOUND
#1

Does anyone know where I might find the escutcheon that goes around the pushbuttons?

The Philco model 42-327 uses the same escutcheon for the pushbuttons, those are fairly common so you could pinch one off a junker. I'm sure that most 1942 Philcos with six pushbuttons use the same escutcheon as well.

Thanks Arran. Would you know of any supplier for such a piece?

Is it brass or plastic?

I got the one for my 41-280 from Old-Time Replications It is correct colored plastic. The 3rd one down. Extremely happy with that, knobs & bush buttons I got.

You can find the link http://www.philcoradio.com/resourcea.htm

If it's brass and you haven't found one by Dayton I can add that to my look for list.

The patina makes it look like the plate has not been gone too long.

If you haven't had the 42-350 too long, might think about the price of brass at scrap yards.

Might take a picture to your local scrap yard and see if it has found it's way there. My local one lets me wounder out looking for treasures, but that's small town behavior. Brass collects slowly so there may be a slight chance.

Glad you found one

Thankyou for the kind words sir. I double checked it with my component tester and it read 2.7 ohms at .02mH.Stormlord5500 — 08:14 AM
