Next 38-690 question
#16

There still is some good news: AM operates and sounds great. Best sounding radio I've heard! The bad news is that band switch. Last night I had concluded that the bottom part of SW coil #36 was open (fed by the hot resister). Today I noticed that when measuring that coil again, when the band switch is between positions, I can get that coil to measure correctly! And then with the switch moved ever so slightly, I can see a huge resistance. But in any fixed SW position, that coil shows open. And at that end of the band switch, the very back is totally unviewable. I could cut my losses and just reassemble the set and move on......It's not like I sit around listening to SW anyway Icon_evil Icon_biggrin .
