Super thrift store find! 1963 Philco Model 1652

I was at the thrift store yesterday and stumbled upon this beauty for $10. It was love at first sight so I bought it. Came with all the original documentation and after an initial cleaning and dusting of the internals I found that it works almost perfectly. I haven't been able to find much information about this particular unit online, so if anyone out there has more information I would love to hear it. I'm really interested in the original 1963 price of the unit.

I am having one small problem with the phonograph. It worked ok for about 40 minutes then it became choppy and it seems to have trouble turning. I took it out and the idler wheel looks fine, the record plate is a little hard to turn. I'm thinking to take it apart, clean, and lube. Any other advice you folks might have would be greatly appreciated. I've had a difficult time finding any information on these particular models online.
