I've never heard of fly line backing. Is that as heavy as typical dial cord? I wouldn't care what color it was as long as it worked.

Some time back, I came across some old nylon fishing line, heavy gauge stuff that looked just like dial cord, and performed just as well. When I ran out, I could not find any more nylon fishing line that heavy locally.
