I found the top layer of my handle amongst all the layers (the handle was fully separated/delaminated) and it is also brown.

PS. I found several similar handles used in tube amps, some of which could fit and look similar.

The slots are 6-7/8" a[art; in my radio I think they are 6-1/2" or 6.1" apart.
