Yea. I think a repaint is order.
I probably have a spare bandswitch knob somewhere. Since this is an AA-5 type design I plan to drop a Triad x35 isolation transformer in this.
The other design element I want to change is add some connectors so you can easily remove the speaker. As I’m reading this the filter choke goes to the pins 3 and 4 of the 6V6 audio output tube.
Running two wires topside on the chassis will make that easier. At some point the speaker dies - that way it can be replaced without taking the chassis off.
I’m debating replacing the dials. Reproductions are available, but I’d have to get a rivet tool.
