Vintage electrolytic recapping was often done by simply tacking in some new electrolytics without removing the old electrolytic from the circuit. Bad practice and as Rod said, relying on those old recapped electrolytics is just asking for it to fail. As morzh said, replace all the electrolytics. The old paper caps will also fail if they are not leaky already.
