37-116 automatic tuning dial woes
#1

Fighting this thing. Has the 'early' setup with the spring for the mask in the spacer hub. 1st problem the mask is getting up on the step on the hub . when it does this it locks the mask to the dial assy, so when you try to tune it it turns the band switch (and visa versa) Hard to tell what was right since the drawing in the bulletin was the 2nd type.Gave up trying to figure what was going on and took a drum sander and relieved the mask enough so it wouldn't hang on the hub. That seems to work fine so I'm going with it. 8)

2nd issue, the dial scale is cracked on the inner ring that holds it to the hub, but away from the little key. This can allow the dial to jump the key and slip on the hub. What would be best to repair the crack? superglue, service cement, etc? never tried to glue phenolic before.

3rd issue with the set, not the dial. It has a 30s/40s aftermarket phono input installed in it. (You know the one with the L bracket, rca jack, switch and 2 caps attached.) its installed well what do you all think, leave it or remove it?
