With regard to going the stain route vs Tinted Lacquer. In the future I plan on going with the tinted lacquer, but time and cost (no local supplers and cost of about $30 for 1 can including shipping), pushed me to another route. This and some other radios are Christmas gifts and I am running out of time. Good enough is going to have to be good enough until I have more time, experience, and can shake the money tree a little harder.
