Philco 40-216 Loop Connection Question
#1

http://www.nostalgiaair.org/PagesByModel...013346.pdf

When I first received the radio, the loop antenna connections to terminals 1, 2, 3 and ANT and the rear chassis were as follows: 1:White/Green from loop, 2:White from loop and lead to short wave loop, 3: Black from loop, ANT: No connection. When I restored the set, I followed the schematic. 1:White/Green from loop, 2: Short wave loop, 3: White, ANT: Black. This did not work too well, and adjusting the automatic tuning antenna trimmers had no effect (the OSC adjustments worked).

Just looking at resistances on my radio, White/Green to Black: 1.1 ohm. White/Green to Black and White to Black: 11K. So it appears that on my radio, black and white from the loop are switched. So I reconnected the leads as follows:
1: White/Green, 2: Short wave loop, 3: Black, ANT: White. This seems to work better, but still some of the ANTENNA trimmers have no effect and others very little.

Any clue as to how I should connect the loop leads to terminals 1, 2, 3, and ANT?

Thanks!
