Transporting a 37-116
#1

So, as many of you know, I am on my way to pick up a 37-116 tomorrow. It's about a 3.75 hour drive each way, mostly smooth Interstate travel. The radio will be lying flat on its back in the back of my Ford Taurus X. Here's the question: should I remove the radio chassis before transporting it? I doubt a radio like this was designed to be transported in this manner and I don't want to damage anything. If I do need to remove it, what tools do I need and how hard is it?
